Weird year.

2 min read

I know it's been a minute, so bear with me....

So, we're near the end of this crazy year, and I've seen myself graduate from college with two degrees with honors in the middle of it, and have it bookended with both my parents dying. My mother passed from a heart attack earlier this year, and on November 28th my dad passed after years of health issues. They had divorced years ago, but I managed to keep a loving relationship with both, especially my father who I lived with most of my life and is directly responsible for much of the man I am today. I love them both and they will be missed in ways I don't have words for.

To say it's not fair is a massive understatement, but life is seldom fair, so while I'll be mourning with my family this week my main focus is still on getting work as an illustrator and graphic designer. So to both get myself back into the swing of things and to bring in some necessary income to live and all that, I'm doing the unthinkable: opening up commissions.

I'm not a fan of this practice as I've discovered over the years that if I don't care much about a character someone wants to do, or a genre in general, my interests ebbs and it takes me out of the work. However I can as a professional courtesy get some work done with the following pricing and provisions:

Busts (head, neck, and shoulders): $50

Pencils: $65

Inks: :125

$25 per additional figure

No sexual acts

No kids or people that look like kids in any sort of sexual ideation (I've had some odd requests on this one)

Not doing painting at this time as I am prepping for more freelance work at the beginning of the year. I'm opening 10 slots, and if I'm still up for commission work after that I may open up another 10.

Greetings to all who are still on DA,

Timothy Green II, my partner in comic crime and good friend has been working on a few personal comic projects for a while now, and I've had the privilege of helping with slinking some inks to help make the dream a reality.

It's gonna be hitting the web soon and there's a Patreon up to support the projects here:

If you feel so inclined, do what you can to support a truly talented artist continue to do the work he loves.

So, at present I'm in the middle of my first summer class at Montgomery College, which is going fine. But the fall will get hairy as I will have 4 classes and between that and the work I'll be trying to balance between the classes (my current freelance work, any comic work that comes in) so now is the best time to look at trying to get anything. Right now, I'm getting a great deal of joy out of the paintings I've done of late, and if you're interested in getting an original of a person of your choice then I'm offering a limited window of 10 slots for people to commission me. For the paintings, the price is $150, and that's on 11x15 paper.

Once I've gotten in all the commissions in, I'll have everything finished by the end of July, at which point I'll see about doing another batch of 10 for the next month, until school starts up again. Feel free to respond here or hit me with a note if you are interested.

The big day.

1 min read
Well, now that the wedding madness is done (thanks for all the well wishes and such) We are preparing for the big move. We have a fine place in Rockville and the move in date is set for January 15, 2019. We both have movers helping us get the bulk of the stuff in, but I may still ferry small stuff here and there.

I realize that the date is during the week and that a lot of people won't even be available, but we hope to have a housewarming party before long so we'll keep everyone posted.

Thanks to all my local friends for the support, and thanks for the well wishes from everyone here. looking forward to this new chapter in my life.

Moving.

1 min read
Well, after a small and lovely ceremony in October, this was bound to happen: I'm moving in with the wife!

We've found a place in Rockville, not far from her family and in a pleasant enough neighborhood. We have a move in date and we're expecting to sign the lease today. So, as of January 15, 2019 I shall be living with the love of my life. Well, you know after packing up and moving all the things....again....

So if any of my local friends are available, I will definitely need the help.

Moving day is coming once again....
